Why I started Harber.

After moving to Scholars Meadows, it wasn’t long before a window cleaner knocked at the door. I did some number-crunching and worked out what I could offer as a small, genuinely local business.

Because Harber is independently run with lower overheads, I can offer neighbours a dependable, personal service at prices I believe are competitive and fair.

The name Harber combines Harriet, my daughter’s name, with Berry, our family name. I wanted the business to have a name that was personal to me and one I would be proud to build a reputation around.

I have more than 20 years of offshore experience, including industrial cleaning. Working in a safety-focused environment has made high standards, reliability and attention to detail second nature—qualities I bring to every Harber clean.

I organise the round carefully around my work commitments and only offer cleaning dates when I am available. I genuinely enjoy meeting people and have loved getting to know everyone I’ve worked with across the estate so far.

I’m always happy to stop for a chat—sometimes I probably spend nearly as long talking as I do cleaning, but don’t tell the boss… although technically, that’s me! 😂 The windows will still be cleaned properly, and customers can contact me directly whenever they need to.
